When this couple decided to make one of their homes for their blended family, it was clear that they needed more space in his 1960s brick ranch. With sensitivity to the modest houses in their neighborhood, a little push out at the kitchen and pull out of the bedroom added just the space necessary while fitting in. The kitchen expanded to create enough spaces to become the center of the house for multiple cooks as well as teens hanging out or doing homework. The master bedroom expanded to include a full master bath, walk-in closet and space for her to get have some quiet time. Other subtle renovations include expanding the connection from the family room to the kitchen, addition of a mud-room entry area, and connecting the kitchen and dining areas.
